Frozen Chicken Thighs In The Air Fryer
Frozen thighs will take even longer in an air fryer than they do in an oven because of the way heat is distributed. In a 350-degree air fryer, frozen chicken thighs need to bake for 70-75 minutes. As with thawed cuts, flip your frozen thighs halfway through the cooking process to help them heat up thoroughly.
Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs In The Air Fryer
Boneless chicken thighs should bake in an air fryer for 30-35 minutes. If you’re serving up a large quantity of them, they should be cooked in batches to allow optimal airflow through the cooking basket. Flipping the thighs halfway through cooking will result in full, even heat distribution through the meat.

Not everyone owns a grill or likes to grill. Or you may want to make this in the winter but don’t want to be outside in the cold. That’s where this baked version of BBQ chicken steps in. Heat the oven to 400 F. Lightly coat a 13 x 9-inch pan with cooking spray. Remove thighs from marinade, discarding remaining marinade, and place thighs skin-side down in the pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 F. Carefully pour off any accumulated fat and drippings and brush barbecue sauce over thighs. Using tongs, flip thighs over and brush the tops with barbecue sauce. Continue to cook for another 15 minutes, basting with barbecue sauce every five minutes. When an instant-read thermometer registers 165 F, the thighs are done.

Dont Use Too Much Oil
Oil is essential for cooking up chicken thighs – bake without one, and you’re more susceptible to burning. However, too much will cause splattering in the oven and can turn a rub into a paste.
For 2lbs of chicken, you’ll only need 1 tablespoon of oil. A little goes a long way, and you’ll only need a thin coat.

How To Make The Best Grilled Chicken:
Add all of the ingredients to a large zip lock bag.
Seal the bag and shake it around until the chicken thighs are well-coated in oil and seasoning.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 8.
If you use a gas grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat .
If you use a charcoal grill: Prepare your coals in a charcoal chimney to heat the coals quickly. Once the coals are hot, arrange them either in the very center of the grill or off to one side , so that there is a cool part of the grill where you can cook on indirect heat. If you dont have a charcoal chimney, arrange the coals in a pile on one side of the grill.
Place the chicken thighs on the grill grate over direct heat and grill for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the skin turns golden brown. Flip and sear on the other side for 3 to 5 minutes, until golden-brown as well.
Move chicken pieces to unlit side of grill and cover the grill. Cook, flipping occasionally, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Use tongs to transfer the chicken to a cookie sheet or plate. Let chicken rest 5 to 10 minutes before serving. This allows the juices in the chicken to distribute throughout the meat, producing an even more tender result.
Serve with your choice of side dishes and enjoy!
And repeat!

How Long Does It Take To Make Chicken Thighs On The Grill
Due to their ease of prep and cooking time, chicken thighs on the grill are perfect for when you have less than an hour to prepare dinner! Marinated chicken gets placed over low heat undisturbed for about five minutes to slow roast and create those beautiful grill marks. This process gets repeated a few times, flipping once or twice. In about 20 minutes, from grill to plate, these chicken thighs will be ready to go! The results? Tender, juicy thighs with a crispy, lightly charred exterior. The total cooking time will depend on the size of your thighs, so, if possible, when choosing which to buy, look for those uniform in shape. When in doubt, ask your local butcher! In this recipe, we use boneless chicken thighs for quicker cooking time but feel free to make it with bone-in chicken thighs, they will just take a bit more time.

What Is Two Zone Grilling
The key to this chicken thighs recipe is two zone grilling . To achieve this, you’ll need a gas grill that has multiple cooking areas / zones. Once you preheat your grill, you’ll turn off one set of burners to create an indirect cooking zone. This is where you’ll place your chicken thighs or any food that you want to grill indirectly. The other side of the grill will remain on, creating a direct heat zone.
You can create a similar effect on a charcoal grill by positioning the hot coals on one side and leaving the other side empty.

How To Know When Grilled Chicken Thighs Are Done
Be careful here the color of your chicken things doesnt indicate if they are done or not.
According to the USDA, even fully cooked chicken can have a pinkish tinge in meat and juices .
Dont forget to use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the meat. This goes for both bone-in and boneless thighs.
If the temperature reaches 165 degrees, the meat is cooked.
If the temperature is higher than this, you may end up with overcooked, tough chicken pieces.
However, if you dont own a meat thermometer, youll know your meat is done when the juices run clear once you move the chicken out of the grill grate and let it rest for one minute.
In case your chicken thighs arent done yet, you can return them and grill thighs some more.
Pro tip: If you dont have it, my advice is to get a meat thermometer. Itll be useful not only for chicken thighs but breasts as well, as they are difficult to cook evenly.

How To Defrost Frozen Chicken Thighs
If you want to avoid sticking frosty chicken in the oven, defrosting them overnight is the best way to go.
Chicken thighs thaw very easily in the fridge. Simply set them in the fridge the night before you cook them and allow them to slowly defrost. This is the safest way to defrost chicken thighs before baking them.
Chicken can stay in the fridge for up to two days. Once those two days have passed, discard the uneaten chicken.
