Customer Reviews Of The Kitchenaid Grills
Home Depot sells both the Nexgrill products as well as some models of the KitchenAid branded grills.
I pulled up the customer reviews for the nearly equivalent KitchenAid grill and have it posted below.
Only 68% of customers would recommend this grill and I suspect most of the ones who like the grill have only used it for a few months.
17% of customers disliked the grill enough to leave either a 1 or 2 Star review.
The biggest complaint about the grill are severe corrosion and the stainless steel wrap coming off the grates.
In my book a $699 product having a 17% dissatisfaction rate is unacceptable.
If you want to buy a cheap grill then go ahead and buy a cheap grill and buy a Nexgrill branded product at Home Depot.
If you want to buy a great grill then buy the Weber.

How Long Can I Expect My Kitchenaid Gas Grill To Last
Kitchenaid models are set at a moderate price point, and the quality is in line with the cost. When everything arrives in good condition, you should be able to get 3 to 5 years out of the unit.
Remember that regular upkeep is necessary to keep gas grills in prime working order. Be sure to wash the grilling grates after each use and scrub down the burners at least once a week to clear out any residue.
Is It Easier To Use A Gas Grill Than A Charcoal Grill
Generally speaking, it is easier. Gas grills are undoubtedly more convenient, and theres no charcoal or ash buildup to deal with. Amateur grillers tend to have more luck achieving the proper temperature range with gas burners.
In all fairness, though, charcoal fires provide a taste and a texture that no gas-powered jets can replicate. If you think of grilling as a hobby, and not just a way to get dinner on the table, youll probably be much happier with a charcoal grill.

Key Features Of The Kitchenaid Grill
My local Costco alternates between having a two burner and four burner KitchenAid grill on display. It doesnt matter which one you are currently looking at as they both have the same fundamental problem of low build quality.
Just for kicks, lets take a look at the four burner model that is currently being pushed.
The four burner KitchenAid grill features:
- Stainless steel construction
- 689 square inches of grilling surface
On the surface everything seems right about this grill.
What makes it even more attractive is that it is priced at $699 and, at my Costco, they have this grill sitting right next to a $1,200 Weber Genesis 435.
KitchenAid and Weber are both great brands and it is so easy to think you can buy the KitchenAid and save $500 compared to buying the WeberI get it.
But there is something going on here that is not obvious.

Full Review Kitchenaid 4
KitchenAid is one of the most trusted names in cooking equipment. Unfortunately, this grill has very little to do with KitchenAid. The name is licensed and slapped on the front of this shiny, discount gas grill. I just want to make sure that you dont think that you are buying a KitchenAid product when you buy this grill. You arent.
As for the grill itself, this is a big, shiny 4-burner gas grill from a company called Nexgrill. This is a powerful grill. You get a maximum of 40,000 BTUs under 422 square inches of primary grilling surface. Thats pretty good. You also get a 15,000 BTU infrared side burner. Theoretically, you would use this for searing, but it does make a hard to clean mess if you do. In the back of the grill is a 13,000 BTU infrared rotisserie burner. Note that the rotisserie kit for this grill is sold separately and costs nearly $90USD. Not much of a bargain there.
The KitchenAid 4-Burner Gas Grill looks all stainless from the front, but the side and back panels as well as the cooking chamber are porcelain coated steel. The truth is, this would be a better quality grill if the exterior was black and the cooking chamber was stainless but looks matter. In fact, this grill is designed to look very good and impressive. Large and shiny, this grill weighs in around 150 pounds, which isnt bad, but there is little here that has much quality to it.
