Let me first say that the food at McDonalds is probably delicious. I know it used to be, but the older I get, the healthier I try to eat. So if Im in line at McDonalds, Im there to get a cup of coffee, which by the way is great coffee. But the other day I was getting coffee and I was also a bit hungry so I thought Id get something to eat, but try to stick to healthier stuff.
Here I am in my car, looking at the menu, and I cant find the grilled chicken sandwiches. So, I asked the voice at the other end if they still make grilled chicken wraps. No, we dont have those, she replied. And I said okay, how about a grilled chicken sandwich? No. we dont have those either, she replied. And I said okay, what kind of grilled chicken do you have? We dont have grilled chicken, she replied. Whaaaat? No grilled chicken? You used to have grilled chicken, you must be mistaken, I said. Nope, no grilled chicken anything, she replied.
So I got my coffee, went home and hopped on my computer to prove her wrong. No grilled chicken, indeed. Im going to go online and print out the McDonalds menu and march right back up there and show that employee how she was mistaken. Ill show her all the grilled chicken features on the menu I find online.
Oh well, McDonalds. Im not going to say Im not disappointed. I am. But I suppose you have to make what sells, and I guess we live in a fried food world. Dont worry, I still visit you for the coffee.

CHICAGO McDonalds Corp. is launching a trio of new chicken sandwiches beginning Feb. 24. All three options feature a new crispy all-white meat chicken fillet and are served on a new toasted, buttered potato roll.
The Crispy Chicken Sandwich is topped with crinkle cut pickles.
The Spicy Chicken Sandwich features spicy pepper sauce and crinkle cut pickles.

The latest menu change comes less than two weeks after McDonalds announced that it would be trimming its late-night menu down to eight categories in favor of faster service. The announcement went over like soggy fries to some night owls as items like the Filet-O-Fish and some chicken sandwiches wont be available around the clock at location that stay open past midnight.
Part of that change included the removal of Signature Crafted burgers and sandwiches on the late-night menus. Now they are being phased out entirely.

Between 2000 and 2003, the chain introduced short-lived foods like the McPhilly Cheesesteak, bratwurst and even a corndog, according to Readers Digest. Some items, like the Fruit N Yogurt Parfait, however, proved popular and have remained on the menu since.

On February 24, McDonalds launched its newest lineup of chicken sandwiches: the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, the Deluxe Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
Immediately, fans and industry experts began to notice that the new offerings seemed very similar to Chick-fil-As and Popeyes iconic chicken sandwiches. Insiders Kate Taylor previously reported on a leaked menu that revealed McDonalds plans to release a new chicken sandwich, saying that the chain was planning to take a page out of Chick-fil-As playbook.
Former McDonalds chef Mike Haracz told Insider its very apparent that McDonalds is following Chick-fil-As lead with its sandwich. It comes in a foil bag just like Chick-fil-A, from what I understand it has a very similar flavor profile, he said.
The description for the McDonalds crispy chicken sandwich described it as a southern style fried chicken sandwich with crinkle-cut pickles and a toasted, buttered potato roll. Chick-fil-As chicken sandwich also comes on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips.
However, I wasnt going to assume that the sandwiches were identical I had to try them for myself.

Mcdonalds 100% Chicken Breast Sandwiches Not Simply The Breast

McDonalds says its chicken sandwiches are simply the breast, made with 100% chicken breast filet. But take a gander at the ingredients and youll find a surprising component: rib meat.
After a TINA.org reader reported seeing ads on TV and in print for McDonalds 100% chicken breast sandwiches that she asserted actually contain rib meat, we looked into it. Sure enough, right there on McDonalds website, on individual menu item pages, TINA.org found six chicken sandwiches advertised as made with 100% chicken breast filet whose first ingredient listed was either chicken breast fillets with rib meat or boneless skinless chicken breast with rib meat.

Why Did Mcdonalds Quit Selling Grilled Chicken
In February of 2020, McDonalds announced that it would no longer be selling grilled chicken at its US locations. The decision was made as part of an effort to streamline the chains menu and focus on core items. While grilled chicken was a popular menu item, it was not as profitable as other items and took up valuable kitchen space. McDonalds has stated that it will continue to offer grilled chicken at its international locations.
McDonalds salads, bagels, and grilled chicken sandwiches will no longer be available in the near future. The chain is attempting to simplify its offerings in the aftermath of the pandemic by streamlining its offerings. We will serve Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, Cheeseburgers, Chicken McNuggets, and French Fries all day long. The Coronavirus pandemic has resulted in McDonalds curtailing the availability of salads, bagels, and yogurts on its menus. Seven items will be added to the fast-food chains U.S. menu throughout the month of July, according to franchisee reports. McDonalds restaurants open for breakfast at 7:00 a.m. on weekdays, and they are open until 10:30 a.m. every day. McDonalds salads are no longer available for purchase.

We Cannot Predict The Duration Or Scope Of The Covid
Also on Wednesday, McDonalds filed a 8-K form, providing updates on the companys operations and risk factors. The document states that in the US, substantially all restaurants are operating drive-thru, delivery, and take-away only, and some may limit menu and hours.
In the updated risk facts, McDonalds writes that the coronavirus has disrupted the McDonalds global restaurant operations beginning in early 2020.
Local governmental restrictions and public perceptions of the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic have caused, and may continue to cause consumers to avoid or limit gatherings in public places or social interactions, which could continue to adversely affect our business, the document reads. In addition, our ability to maintain our supply chain and labor force may become challenging as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
McDonalds concludes: We cannot predict the duration or scope of the COVID-19 pandemic or when operations will return to full service. We expect the COVID-19 pandemic to negatively impact our financial results and such impact could be material to our financial results, condition and prospects based on its longevity and severity.
