Then simply fold in the sides and wrap into a parcel, and wrap in foil to hold it all together. Then bake until the egg is cooked to your taste its easy to tell, just poke to surface and youll be able to feel how firm the egg is.

I realise the name is a bit clunky. And if there is anyone reading this who is more of a wordsmith than me, Id dearly love suggestions for a better name. It sounds almost childish, doesnt it? And yet somehow, very me. .

Why We Love Philly Cheesesteak Pockets Recipe

As a kiddo, I always loved opening Pillsbury Crescents® because of that unsuspecting POP that accompanies it. I still think of that anticipation each time I press the spoon into the crease of the inner packaging! Whether I make savory or sweet recipes with themthey make delicious additions to our table.

I love a good Philly Cheese Steak, especially in the winter time when Im craving some comfort food to keep me warm and cozy on the chilliest of days! Comfort food to me is hot, cheesy, and a stick-to-ribs kind of recipe this one is extra awesome because its only 5 ingredients and a few spices.

Awesome. It hardly gets any better than that

Chicken Broccoli And Cheddar Hot Pockets With Croissant Crust

The only reason, really, that the Chicken, Broccoli and Cheddar Croissant Crust Hot Pocket is so low on this list is because of its crust. The flaky croissant crust does work with this flavor combination, but in comparison and lined up against all the other offerings, it falls a wee bit short. This flavor profile is a sneaky twist on a classic Hot Pocket. If you werent having cheese or pepperoni pizza Hot Pockets back in the day, you were probably eating the chicken, broccoli and cheddar ones. Probably at your parents insistence that it was better that the steady flow of pizza into your gullet.

Its a sly way to get people to eat their vegetables. Plus, who doesnt like anything drenched in cheese? The chicken is juicy, the cheese plentiful, and the broccoli offers a nice bite but not a whole lot of broccoli flavor. Its good eating, and the croissant crust adds a sense of decadence to it. Its just not as good as some of the other choices out there.

The key here is those huge chunks of ham, which are glued together by this goopy cheese in a perfect symphony of salty indulgence. Alright alright!

Pepperoni Pizza Hot Pockets With Crispy Crust

Pepperoni pizza. Much beloved in all its forms, Hot Pockets included. There are a few pepperoni pizza varieties on this list and in the product line at Nestle, but they are not all created equal. The crispy crust on this one is nice, but it doesnt add anything in terms of flavor, and thats where it falls short.

The crispy crust is, however, nice to have as far as texture. Usually everything comes out a bit soggy when its been blasted, but not these. Hot Pockets come with a crisper that you cook everything in, and it does a pretty good job, especially with this version of Hot Pockets. The trick is to let it sit in the microwave after cooking for the recommended two minutes. Itll continue to cook and crisp up. Patience is a virtue, yes, even for Hot Pockets.

Hot Pockets: Philly Steak & Cheese Food Review

Let me first say, I actually like hot pockets brand products, most of them. I, however dont enjoy these too much. Hot Pockets Lean Pockets Deli Style Ham and Cheddar are honestly not quite what I expected. Unlike the other sandwich flavors, for some reason, the ham tastes a little salty and has a more limp texture to it. The cheese gives off a milky after taste. and there seems to be a bit of unextracted water that lingers in the ham. I didnt like how the set up of cheese chunks inter mingle with the slightly over salted meat. The crust is very similar to all the other hot pockets, no complaints there. The problem for me may very well be that I dont often enjoy warm deli styled, cut lunchmeat at all. Whether it be from the deli, sub shop or in a premade sandwich, I never have so, to be fair, I will say that my perception of the flavor may have something to do with that.

Homemade Hot Pockets: Beef & Cheddar

Homemade hot pockets are the perfect make-ahead meals for a quick lunch, dinner or even breakfast!

Admit it.

When you read the words hot pockets, you sang it like they did in the 90s commercials.

Like most of us, hot pockets were a mainstay of my diet from my teenage years through my early 20s.

The convenience of just tossing your favorite flavor into that cardboard sleeve and zapping it in the microwave for a couple of minutes could not be beat.

That hot, melty, cheesy flavored goodness still brings back memories.

Links in this post may be affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you make a purchase from any of them. You can read my full disclaimer HERE.

Now as an adult, Im trying to avoid a lot of processed foods, and want to provide a healthier diet for my kids. But I still want that super fast lunch of dinner available for the crazy schedule we normally maintain.

To solve this problem, I make homemade hot pockets. Theyre super easy to put together, and super customizable to exactly your tastes!

Plus, by making homemade hot pockets instead of store bought ones, you can avoid preservatives and make them to fit your own dietary needs.

Wendy’s Hot Chili Seasoning

Hot Pockets Steak & Cheddar 2ct
The little red packets of viscous hot sauce at the fast food giant have a cult following of rabid fans who will do whatever it takes to get their hands on large quantities. One such fan of the sauce commented online, “Are there any Wendy’s employees or managers out there who will mail me an entire case of Hot Chili Seasoning? I swear this is not a joke. I love the stuff. I tip extra cash to Wendy’s workers to get big handfuls of the stuff.” Well, there’s really no need to tip any Wendy’s employees, because now you can clone as much of the spicy sauce as you want in your own kitchen with this Top Secret Recipe. The ingredients listed on the real Hot Chili Seasoning are water, corn syrup, salt, distilled vinegar, natural flavors, xanthan gum, and extractives of paprika. We’ll use many of those same ingredients for our clone, but we’ll substitute gelatin for the xanthan gum to get the slightly gooey consistency right. For the natural flavor and color we’ll use cayenne pepper, cumin, paprika, and garlic powder, then filter the particles out with a fine wire-mesh strainer after they’ve contributed what the sauce needs. This recipe makes 5 ounces of sauce just the right amount to fit nicely into a used hot sauce bottleand costs just pennies to make.

What To Serve With Baked Mac And Cheese

Mac and Cheese is worthy of serving as a meal in its own right, served with just a fresh green salad or simple vegetable side. Nothing heavy because Macaroni Cheese is so rich as it is!

As a side dish, it will compliment virtually any non-Asian main dish. From simple Baked Pork Chops to Steak, a Roast Chicken to Crispy Garlic Chicken Thighs, the only things I probably would not serve with Mac and Cheese would be very light summery mains such as a Tuna Tartare just a little too much contrast.

And of course, festive gatherings! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter alongside a grand Roast Turkey or your Herb & Garlic Butter Slathered Turkey Breast, the juicy Roast Pork with impossibly Crispy Crackling or your Prime Rib thats so perfectly blushing pink all the way through, it makes you want to weep.

Holidays would not be the same without this Mac and Cheese!! Nagi xx

Homemade Hot Pocket Fillings

My kids absolutely love these, so I usually make a whole bunch of them at once, filling them with all their favorites.

Pepperoni pizza is always a popular filling in our house, but Ive also been known to fill them with taco meat, ham, or even scrambled eggs and sausage.

I like to get creative with whatever I have around the kitchen, experimenting with new flavors.

Ive actually found that making homemade hot pockets is a great way to use leftovers! Sometimes Ill actually make extra dinner just to use the leftovers to make hot pockets the next day.

Ive also really been wanting to make a dessert version of this recipe, and I plan to use this fried apple recipe from my friend Kenya, over at for the filling!

Today, I made homemade hot pockets with one of our favorite fillers: barbeque beef and cheddar.

The ingredients are super easy to bring together.

Basically, all you need is pizza dough and whatever fillings you want.

To save time, I usually pick up a few balls of pizza dough from my local grocery store, but you can easily make your own! Nicole, over at has a great, versatile pizza dough recipe that can be found here.

I can usually get six to eight hot pockets out of each ball of pizza dough, depending on how thick I want the crust to be.

Its really a very simple process. Just divide the dough, roll it out, fill it up with whatever you want, and bake!

Prepared And Packaged Mixes

Packaged macaroni and cheese are available in frozen form or as boxed ingredients for simplified preparation. Boston Market, Michelinas, Kraft Foods, Cracker Barrel and Stouffers are some of the more recognizable brands of prepared and frozen macaroni and cheese available in the United States. Macaroni and cheese loaf, a deli meat which contains both macaroni and processed cheese bits, can be found in some stores.

A variety of packaged mixes that are prepared in a sauce pan on the stove or in a microwave oven are available. They are usually modeled on Kraft Macaroni & Cheese , which was introduced in 1937 with the slogan make a meal for four in nine minutes. It was an immediate success in the US and Canada amidst the economic hardships of the Depression. During the Second World War, rationing led to increased popularity for the product which could be obtained two boxes for one food rationing stamp. The 1953 Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook includes a recipe using Velveeta, which had been reformulated in that year. The boxed Kraft product is popular in Canada, where it is the most-purchased grocery item in the country.

Boxed mixes consist of uncooked pasta and either a liquid cheese sauce or powdered ingredients to prepare it. The powdered cheese sauce is mixed with either milk or water, and margarine, butter, or olive oil and added to the cooked pasta. Some mixes prepared in a microwave cook the pasta in the sauce.
