Tailored To Suit Any Occasion
Over our 25+ years as a favorite steak house in the D.C. area, our Crystal City restaurant has earned a reputation for our sizzling steaks, exceptional service and spectacular 11th-story view. Now richly remodeled and elegantly redesigned, our Arlington, VA, steak house has been expertly tailored to elevate any occasion.
A regal feel with a relaxed welcome.
A pair of larger-than-life oil paintings of military figures with a whimsical twist promise an evening to remember from the moment you walk through our door. Our vibrant bar, with its expanded seating and communal table, invites guests to linger longer and take in one of the best views of the D.C. skyline, Capitol Building and the harbor. Elegant light fixtures throughout the dining area give a playful nod to the runway lights outside our windows. Design details masterfully brought together to create a refreshingly modern take on the traditional steak house experience.
All with that signature sizzle.
While our USDA Prime steaks, bone-in cuts and their signature sizzle have kept us at the top of the list of best steak houses in the D.C. area, youll also find our popular three-course seasonal menu, fresh seafood, scratch-made sides and decadent desserts, along with handcrafted cocktails and an award-winning wine list. All with the sort of exceptional service that would make our founder, Ruth Fertel, proud.
We Will Miss Our Customers The Most They Have Been Like Family Said Wendy Albert
After 32 years, Wendy and Serge Albert are hanging up their chef aprons at Tempo Restaurant, the business they built in the remains of an old gas station located at 4231 Duke Street in the West End of Alexandria. We have loved every minute that we have been here and will miss our customers the most, said Wendy when we met last week to discuss the news.
Citing health reasons and a burning desire to take a break, the husband and wife duo hope to enjoy the next stage in their lives. Im ready to go fishing and foraging in the woods of France with my brother looking for mushrooms, said Serge Albert, who mentioned hed like to spend some time in his home country with his 90-year-old mom there also.
Wendy chimed in and said its just time. We also have family in California and a son in Richmond, and weve both been working seven days a week for almost 50 years. Were kind of tired. Its time for us to enjoy the last part of our lives.
Serge and Wendy are part of an amazing love story. She was one of the East Coasts first female executive chefs when she took the reins at Portners Restaurant at 109 S. St. Asaph Street in Old Town. Serge was cooking his chef hat off while running the kitchen at the old Terrazza Restaurant. They fell in love, bought a house in the West End, had a son, then looked around and saw an old gas station at the bottom of the hill.
