Taco Bell: Fresco Soft Taco
In an attempt to win over the fresh and healthy crowd, Taco Bells been upping their taco game as of late. The Fresco sub-menu pares down the excess of the original steak tacos by ditching cheese and the extremely creamy avocado Ranch sauce. The overall taco is also smaller, with diced tomatoes swapped for pico de gallo and the same shredded lettuce as always.

Chipotle: Hard Shell Taco
The steak here is basically a slightly thinner version of a cheap restaurant steak. Its got the pink interior and plenty of chew, but remains sadly underseasoned. As with most build-it-yourself places, the main ingredient is painfully lacking any particular flavor, since it has to work with so many different possible ingredients. At least the hard corn shell tastes fresh and warm.

After Almost A Decade Taco Bell’s Enchirito Is Ready To Enter The Ringagain
If it hails from Taco Bell, you know my names written all over it. But not everything that glitters can stay gold forever. Over the past few years, fans have been on a rollercoaster of emotions. Since Taco Bell did a menu purge back in 2020, we lost a lot of good soldiers. The Nachos Supreme, Grilled Steak Soft Taco and Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes were just a few of the 14 eliminated items. The Mexican Pizza was a victim too, but luckily it found its way back.
Now the Taco Bell Enchirito is finally making its official comeback to the menu, and were over the moon with anticipation.
Beloved Taco Bell Items That Have Disappeared From The Menu
Although we’re more than halfway through 2021, we’re still thinking about all of the menu changes that Taco Bell made in 2020. The fast-food chain took us on a roller coaster ride of emotions sparked by new additions and heartbreaking cuts last year.
If you can’t exactly remember what is and isn’t on the Taco Bell menu any longer, we won’t blame you. To refresh your memory, we gathered some of the tacos, burritos, and other menu items you can’t order now. Del Taco: Taco Al Carbon
For all its failings as a ground beef taco enterprise, Del Taco scored a winner with their steak taco al carbon. Imbued with a smoky, coal-fired flavor and touched off with a nice char, this was easily the best fast-food version we tried. The steamed tortillas and puddle of guacamole were still a disappointment, but nothing a little hot sauce couldnt kick in the teeth.
Tips For Prepping And Using Taco Bell Beef Filling
- Store any extra seasoning mix in an airtight container. As long as it remains dry, it should stay fresh for months. Use a quarter cup of the seasoning mix per recipe if you prepare it in bulk.
- Use the Taco Bell beef recipe with other dishes. Its perfect inside of a quesadilla or mixed with a cheese sauce over fries. Stir in some salsa for a Mexican-style sloppy joe.

Taco Bell: Fresco Hard Taco
The hard shelled Fresco version is a lesson in healthy futility, as the fresh veggies cant overcome the hard, slightly stale corn tortilla. The result is a taco that isnt light enough to feel healthy and isnt filled with enough sour cream or mystery spicy cream sauce to work through the dry shell.

The Taco Bell Beef Recipe
The secret to these tacos is getting the beef filling right. While the process is straightforward, the ingredient list is a bit on the long side. Dont worry, you can easily make an extra-large batch of the seasoning mixture and keep it on hand. Then you can whip up a Taco Bell beef filling in minutes.
You shouldnt have any difficulty finding any of the ingredients in a large supermarket. If you have never heard of masa harina before, it is made from dried corn treated with lime and then ground into flour.
Masa harina is a common ingredient in Tex-Mex dishes as both a flour for making tortillas and as a thickener. You can find blue, yellow, and white masa harina based on the color of the corn, but for this recipe, stick with the white or yellow versions.
Assembling The Taco Bell Soft Tacos
Heat the tortillas for about 30 seconds per side in a large, dry skillet or about 20 seconds in the microwave.
Place the tortilla on a plate and add two to three tablespoons of the beef filling. Top with shredded iceberg lettuce and cheese.
If you want to make it a Taco Bell Soft Taco Supreme, add some diced tomatoes and sour cream. Fold and serve immediately.

Taco Bell Grilled Steak Soft Taco Recipe
The grilled steak soft taco from Taco Bell is delicious and very easy to make at home. The grilled steak soft taco consists of marinated grilled steak, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, and an avocado ranch sauce on a flour tortilla. The marinade gives the steak a lot of flavor and uses ingredients such as orange juice, lime juice, and cider vinegar. For the best results you will want to marinate the steak for several hours or overnight. For the best flavor you will want to grill the steak preferably on an outdoor grill. The avocado ranch sauce is a simple combination of ranch dressing and fresh avocado. With this recipe you can make steak soft tacos at home that are even better than at Taco Bell.
Former Employees Allege That Taco Bell Steak Has Its Additives Too
Taco Bell removed their soft grilled steak taco from the menu in 2020 , but fans clamoring for more should probably remember that those cheap casings were likely not filled with filet mignon. In fact, Eat This, Not That! notes that former Taco Bell employees have insisted that the company’s steak is in the habit of developing a “hair gel-like consistency” if you leave it out for a while. This implies that there are more factors than simple beef at play here, and a Reddit thread discussing Taco Bell steak concurs . “I used to work at Taco Bell. We get it shipped to our store pre-made and pre-cut, with a whole list of additional ingredients,” redditor Seanpalladino noted. Another user, JReedNet, replies by rattling off the alleged ingredients of a product called “USDA Select Marinated Grilled Steak,” which indeed contains beef, water, and an array of seasonings, additives and processing aids that are not unlike those present in Taco Bell seasoned beef.
Note that this doesn’t make the steak any less edible. In fact, it’s still quite delicious, and as the whole debacle with the seasoned beef should prove, the fact that a thing isn’t 100% beef doesn’t make it terrifying. As the unnamed starter of the Reddit thread notes: “It’s tender, pretty flavorful. Never get a weird piece of fat or tendon in it.” Just don’t expect Porterhouse at Taco Bell prices.

Oh its true.its true!
No doubt THE Bell is king of processed food and I most often find myself ordering the steak burrito. Kind of like that buck Malcolm you always mention. However if you want the Grand Poo Bah effect order not one but two cups of nacho cheese and add to it. Two for a burrito or one for a taco! Never tell them to add nacho cheese. They just give you a little squirt. Getting the side orders of cheese is like Peter North in his primegreat coverage! So give it a try.

How To Make Meat For Taco Bell Soft Tacos
To make the Taco Bell beef filling, start by heating a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. You need to make sure that the pan is large enough to allow you to spread out the ground beef. Overcrowding the pan will cause the meat to steam and not brown properly.
Once the meat begins to release some liquid, stir occasionally. After browning the beef, push it towards the side of the pan with the handle. Take the pan off the heat and drain the liquid into a container in the sink. Depending on how much there is, you may find it easier just to mop it up with a paper towel.
Return the pan to medium-high heat, and stir in the seasoning mix along with 3/4 to 1 cup of water. Reduce the heat until the water is barely simmering and cook for about 20 minutes. Stir every couple of minutes, and remove from the heat when most of the liquid is gone.
