How Do They Compare To Other Taco Bell Menu Items

Taco Bell | Steak White Hot Ranch Fries And Burrito!! | Food Review

As Thrillist points out, the Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries are quite similar to an earlier loaded Nacho Fry option from Taco Bell, the Steak Reaper Ranch Fries. The main difference is that the earlier item used Carolina reapers, another kind of absurdly-hot chile pepper, instead of ghost peppers. The chain has also released other variations on the formula, including Buffalo Chicken and Steak Rattlesnake fries.

Of course, Taco Bell had never offered fries on its menu until 2018, so the fact that the brand serves fries now is a change from the historical precedent. Until Taco Bell changed its slogan in 2012, the brand’s “Think outside the bun” motto helped set it apart from the burger-and-fries offerings of its competitors. However, by incorporating Tex-Mex flavors into its fries, Taco Bell has proven itself able to add fries to its menu without sacrificing its core identity.

The other current menu item the Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries most closely resembles is the Nachos BellGrande, which is another mess of sauces, meat, and toppings piled on a starchy base. Swap out tortilla chips for the spuds and these loaded fries would become a perfectly serviceable order of nachos.

What Is Taco Bell’s White Hot Ranch Sauce

It’s basically exactly what it sounds like: a spicy ranch sauce. There are other popular fast-food chains that have debuted their own iterations of this exact same concept like Wendy’s Ghost Pepper Ranch.

Taco Bell is heavily promoting the new sauce with a new menu item: White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries.

The dish is basically a “loaded” version of its nacho-flavored and seasoned french fries. With bits of shredded cheese, steak, and tomatoes, it’s basically a potato-ified version of its Nachos BellGrande. Except its added kick is its White Hot Ranch sauce.

Taco Bell Steak White Hot Ranch Fries

The Steak White Hot Ranch Fri okay, seriously, how many peoples orders have been ruined because of the way these two separate items are named? All the person taking your order has to mishear is the word burrito for you to get the wrong thing. What if you want an order of the Steak White Hot Ranch Fries and a Steak White Hot Ranch Fries Burrito? Why not just call it the White Hot Ranch Burrito and the White Hot Ranch Fries? I cant be the only one who is bothered by what these things are called. Right? Right?!

Phew. Moving on, the Steak White Hot Ranch Fries is an improvement on the Steak White Hot Ranch Fries Burrito. By not wrapping this dish in Taco Bells thick flour tortilla, the fries retain their crispiness and each ingredient can really stand out. The ratio of steak-to-cheese-to-fries-to-tomato-to-sauce provides a better showcase for all of the flavors involved here its just a better construction for this dish.

The only problem is, you arent guaranteed that perfect ratio with every forkful, you kind of have to hunt for it. Eventually, you will hit a point where youre eating just fries, but luckily the fries are good enough to make that a satisfying experience.

Bottom Line:

Your life will be better if you never try Taco Bells Frankenstein twist on the California Burrito . But if youre interested in some tasty spicy ranch and love Taco Bells fries, the Steak White Hot Ranch Fries are a definite winner.

Taco Bell Steak Fries

Taco Bell is known for their Mexican-inspired food, but they also have some pretty delicious steak fries. These thick-cut potatoes are seasoned with a blend of chili pepper, garlic, and other spices, and theyre the perfect side to any of Taco Bells entrees.

The new White Hot Ranch Sauce is available in addition to the new Nacho Fries, which are topped with steak, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes, reduced-fat sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and a variety of other toppings. This new item is available as a burrito as well as a menu item. According to the reviewer, it has a similar flavor and heat to Flamin Hot Cool Ranch Doritos. There are now two different spicy ranch sauces available at Taco Bell. There is a younger one that contains ghost chile powder, while the older one contains habanero peppers. There was a slight difference in the texture of the steak that I always enjoy when it is tender. Its not uncommon for a variety of ingredients in a Taco Bells Steak White Hot Ranch Fries to be mixed together.

Taco Bells White Hot Ranch Fries are a delicious and addicting snack. They are crispy and salty, with a slightly spicy ranch flavor. I cant eat just one!

This is a mouthful: the New Steak Hot White Ranch Fries. Steak is served with hot ranch sauce, nacho cheese sauce, and sour cream, as well as cheddar cheese and tomato. They are all made with soft, spicy forms of nachos. Despite the fact that their internal temperature is not indicative of the Taco Bell fire, these fries will leave you with a lot of heat. The acidity of the tomato reduces the salty taste of Taco Bell steak. I also found this dish to be quite comforting. The bean was made of cheese, and the cheese was made of beans. My insides were severely bruised as a result of my subsequent burrito consumption.

What Are Taco Bell Nacho Fries Made Of

Here are the main elements of Taco Bell loaded nacho fries.

  • Seasoned french fries: The extra seasoning on these fries makes these nachos tastier. You can use straight cut or go with waffle cut for a shape thats closer to a tortilla chip. If you can only find regular french fries, make sure to season with some salt before baking.
  • Seasoned ground beef: All you need is lean ground beef and a taco seasoning blend for this, or you can use a plant-based ground beef instead to keep the nachos vegetarian.
  • Cheese sauce: Melt shredded cheddar cheese and Velveeta processed cheese in milk to create a smooth, easy cheese sauce.
  • Diced tomato, scallions, and sour cream: Tomato and scallions are classic Taco Bell garnishes that give a pop of freshness. The sour cream adds some cooling creamniess against all the savoriness of the meat and cheese sauce.

There are a few different components of these fries so it’s just a matter of making each part then putting them all together.

Here’s a brief overview of how to make nacho fries :

  • Bake oven fries.
  • Saute ground beef with taco seasoning.
  • Meanwhile, make cheese sauce by melting butter in a skillet, then whisking in flour, pickled jalapenos, chili powder and salt. Whisk in milk, bring to a boil, then whisk in cheese and stir until melted.
  • Remove fries from oven and top with cheese sauce, ground beef, pico de gallo, chives and sour cream. Enjoy!

    Weve Come Full Circle

    Howdy folks!

Im pretty sure this is a new Taco Bell product. Well, its new to me, and thats what counts here in the land of my opinions.

The New Steak White Hot Ranch Fries-which is a name thats two words too long. For those of you who have been here since the beginning, you may recall that a Nacho Fry dish like this was the very first review of its kind on this page. So, suffice it to say Im feeling a bit nostalgic, but I have tissues on hand. Also, please ignore the fold of my flesh in the lower right-hand corner of that photo.

To quickly summarize the contents of this plastic bowl, theres steak paired with hot ranch sauce, nacho cheese sauce, and sour cream, which is accompanied by cheddar cheese and tomato. All of which are carried by the soft, spicy forms of the delectable Nacho Fries. Honestly, this smelled quite appealing. Or all of my senses have been trained and mutated by the constant influx of TBell treats.

Unfortunately, to take this sexy, HIGHLY appetizing photograph, I had to expose these messy fries to the elements, and by the time I ate them they were a bit cold. Despite their internal temperature not being a signature Taco Bell FIRE, these fries pack some heat! Taco Bell steak is notoriously salty, but the acidity of the tomato cuts that down. Discerning the ranch sauce from the nacho cheese and sour cream is a bit challenging. They sort of combine to form one big Mega-Sauce and for the most part, it works.

We Tried Taco Bell’s Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries Here’s How It Went

Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries are a bit of a cult fast food item, and it’s exciting whenever they reappear on the chain’s menu. It’s even more exciting when Taco Bell decides to mix things up and offer versions of the fries with fun toppings. In April 2022, the chain announced it would start selling a new loaded French fry dish nationwide: the Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries.

These fries should please heat-lovers and ranch obsessives alike, as they’re made with a spicy ranch sauce. This fully-loaded dish is a great example of Taco Bell’s more-is-more approach to crafting menu items, with so many toppings it looks like the fries are drowning. We needed to know if this limited-time-only item was the perfect 2 a.m. snack or if it was just a hot mess that was less than the sum of its parts, so we tried it and shared our thoughts with you. Read on to find out if the Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries are worth your hard-earned $3.49.

How Do The The Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries Taste

17+ images about taco bell on Pinterest

We’re not going to lie: These fries were excellent and supremely craveable. The one knock on the batch we tested was that the fries themselves didn’t seem fresh and were a little bit soft, but with so much moisture happening from the sauces that didn’t really matter at all. Everything smooshed together into a soggy, delicious mess.

We were kind of afraid of the steak, as industrially-processed steak is often bad and sad, but the steak slices in the Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries were tasty, tender, and very well-seasoned. Every component in the dish was well-seasoned, in fact. Taco Bell is not shy about adding salt and other spices to its food, which is one of its great strengths as a fast food operation.

The White Hot Ranch contributed a little bit of buttermilk tang and a decent amount of spice to the proceedings. We usually douse everything we eat from Taco Bell in the spicy Diablo Sauce, but that wasn’t necessary with these fries. The tomatoes seemed like an afterthought, but they did have a hint of freshness and acidity that complemented all the rich, creamy components. We would order the Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries again in a heartbeat.

So What’s In White Hot Ranch Sauce

If you’re wondering where the stuff gets its kick from, that would be the ghost chili peppers that have been added to a buttermilk ranch sauce. According to food blog Totally the Bomb, the stuff is actually spicy and may induce the sweats the more you scarf it down.

You can top your Nacho Fries off with steak or beef, but there’s probably nothing stopping you from asking for chicken on them if you wanted, too. Oh, and if you are in a starchy mood, you can get the fries wrapped up in a tortilla, which means you could probably line it with even more ranch sauce.

All I can think about are the Taco Bell Steak White Hot Ranch Fries and how much I want to put more in my mouth even though my tolerance for spicy foods is not great I would suffer the pain to eat them again today and forever. Am I addicted to them? Yes. Is that a problem? No.

Review: Taco Bell Steak White Hot Ranch Fries

Taco Bells latest offering features Nacho Fries topped with steak, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes, reduced-fat sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and the new White Hot Ranch Sauce.

Yes, that combination of ingredients, minus the White Hot Ranch, seems familiar. Im probably going to have to look through our entire review archive to find out what it is. Give me an hour or so.

Oh, they were in last months Steak Nacho Fries Burrito. So this new menu item, which is also available in burrito form, is basically last months menu item, except the chipotle sauce is swapped for the White Hot Ranch Sauce. I expect this reusing of ingredient combos from Taco Bell, but not with back-to-back products.

Since I imagine many of you have an idea of how most of this menu item tastes, lets focus on the White Hot Ranch Sauce. The best way I can describe it is to say its flavor and heat remind me of Flamin Hot Cool Ranch Doritos, but Im not saying they taste alike. With the chips, they were basically spicy Cool Ranch Doritos where the Flamin Hots flavors didnt come into play. And with this sauce, its pretty much a spicy ranch. It has a noticeable tanginess with some heat, but theres no flavor from that kick. With that said, its a tasty addition to the vast Taco Bell sauce lineup, and I enjoyed it enough that I found myself trying to scrape up as much as I could from the bottom of the container.

No and no. Taco Bell now has two spicy ranch sauces available.

What Are The Nutrition Facts Of The Steak White Hot Nacho Fries

One order of Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries contains 510 calories. It appears that Taco Bell’s website doesn’t have a detailed breakdown of the fat, carbs, protein, etc. in this menu item. We can say though that we didn’t feel full at all from eating this, and 510 calories seem like a lot for something that felt more like an unsubstantial snack than a full meal.

One order of regular Nacho Fries clocks in at 310 calories with 18 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 610 milligrams of sodium, 34 grams of carbs, and 4 grams of protein. It’s fair to assume that the Steak White Hot Nacho Fries would have a little more of all of these nutrients in them.

This menu item isn’t an advisable order for those with allergies to milk, gluten, eggs, or wheat. The various components are filled with sodium, flavor enhancers, preservatives, and stabilizers, so if you’re trying to eat a natural diet or avoid additives in your foods, you should probably skip the Steak White Hot Ranch Nacho Fries.

You Can Even Get The Spicy Loaded Fries Wrapped In A Burrito

CarBS – Taco Bell Steak White Hot Ranch Fries Burrito

Last year, Taco Bell tested a seriously spicy spin on its already beloved Nacho Fries, piling the starchy side with your choice of beef or steak, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes, more cheddar cheese, and a spicy ranch sauce. But just in case you had any doubt regarding its heat levels, maybe this will debunk that: The sauce blends creamy buttermilk ranch with ghost chili peppers, which have earned a 1,041,427 on the Scoville Heat Units scale.

And now, the Steak White Hot Ranch Fries are here to scorch taste buds nationwide. Taco Bell has brought the creation to its regular menu. Much like its predecessor, the Steak Reaper Ranch Fries, you can choose your fries topped or wrapped into a burrito. The tongue-tingling new fries are available for $2.99 or $3.49 if you go the latter route.

The Steak White Hot Ranch Fries bear a striking resemblance to those Steak Reaper Ranch Fries, which made their debut in 2019. The earlier iteration featured similarly hot Carolina Reaper peppers with marinated steak, nacho cheese sauce, tomatoes, and sour cream.

Taco Bell has spent the last few years testing all sorts of other fry innovations as well, including a Buffalo Chicken Ranch Fries test in Memphis, Vampire Steaked Fries in Chicago, and Loaded Taco Fries in Toledo, Ohio. It looks like the Steak White Hot Ranch Fries were just the favorite.
